‘Manjummel Boys’ director Chidambaram booked for sexual harassment following actor’s complaint

Complainant has accused the director of sexually misbehaving with her reportedly at an apartment in Kochi in 2022

Malayalam filmmaker Chidambaram has been booked in a sexual harrasment case by the Ernakulam Town South police in Kerala. The case against the Manjummel Boys director was registered on Sunday, the police confirmed on Monday (March 2, 2026). The case was registered based on a complaint by a woman associated with the film industry.

The complainant has accused the director of sexually misbehaving with her allegedly at an apartment in Kochi city in 2022.

Mr. Chidambram has been charged under Section 74 (outrage the modesty of a woman) and Section 75 (sexual harrassment offences) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
