Telangana CM inaugurates 250-year-old Bam Rukn-ud-Dowla restored by HYDRAA; wants lake policing for women’s safety

Inaugurating the 250-year-old lake, CM Naidu directed officials to take steps towards lake policing and ensure that women who visit the waterbodies do not face issues

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the restored Bam Rukn-ud-Dowla Lake in Shivrampally of Hyderabad on Sunday (March 8, 2026). 

The extent of the waterbody reduced from 104 acres to 4.2 acres. Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) removed encroachments, took up development works and restored it to 17.5 acres.
