John Deere unveils 130 HP tractor at ₹65 lakh

This technologically superior tractor comes with connectivity solutions, 100% radial tires, Straight-Row Vehicle Guidance System and front hitch and front PTO application

With farm mechanisation picking up in India and demand for alternate fuel increasing, John Deere India Private Ltd., the wholly-owned subsidiary of American tractor major Deere & Company, has introduced a 130 HP heavy duty tractor, its biggest ever in the Indian market at ₹65 lakh.

This technologically superior tractor comes with connectivity solutions, 100% radial tires, Straight-Row Vehicle Guidance System, and a front hitch and front PTO application.

“We are the first company in India to manufacturer tractor of such capacity in India. Some other companies are importing to supply in the local market. This is the right time for such tractors as the demand for alternate fuel [ethanol] is growing,” said John Deere India MD & country manager Rajesh Sinha.

He said that demand for tractors is growing across the board, coming from individual farmers and entrepreneurs who rent tractors and farm equipment.

The company on Wednesday (March 11, 2026) organised a technology show at its Pune factory where it showcased its latest range of tractors and technologies.

“The core of our strategy revolves around integration of precision agricultural, digital solutions for SMART connected machines that enable farmers to produce more with fewer resources,” Mr. Sinha said.

“The recently launched technologies are designed to optimise field operations and input costs, precise crop care solutions ensuring soil and environmental sustainably,” he added.

The company, with annual production capacity of 1,40,000 tractors at two locations in India, exports 30% of its production to 110 countries.

Being the market leader in above 50 HP tractors, the company is now looking to make offerings in the lower capacity tractors.
