Ramya Kannan

Ramya Kannan is an award- winning journalist and is currently The Hindu’s health editor and the Tamil Nadu bureau chief. If you’ve been doing certain things for 28 years, it is quite likely that they begin to define a person, but she believes there’s always space for more. She has been a keen watcher of the happenings in the healthcare sector and the socio-economic development sector, besides having her nose to what’s cooking in the State of Tamil Nadu. Thankfully, she’s managed to retain the passion she started off with in journalism, while also trying to pick up skills in photography, cooking and baking, a snatch of gardening, trying to nurture a coven of women journalists, easing into the world of AI, and keeping up with everything Gen Z, thanks to her 13-year-old daughter.
